Day 1

Marseille

Land in the Marseille Provence Airport, and take a private transfer to a luxe Provençal farmhouse in the heart of the Luberon Valley.

Bonnieux

Enjoy the chateau’s supreme comfort and relaxation. Meet the owner and Michelin starred chef and explore the grounds together, including his prized lush garden filled with wild herbs and edible flowers of the Luberon. Taste and smell the native herbs while chatting with the chef. After, sip aperitifs poolside with the group before dinner. Enjoy dinner served at the hotel prepared by its Michelin-starred chef. Bon Appétit!

Day 2

Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Travel to the renowned wine region of Châteauneuf-du-Pape where vineyards cover more than 7,900 acres of land. Strict Appellation d'origine contrôlée rules allow 18 varieties of red and white wines to be produced. Enjoy a private tour and tasting at a boutique winery and learn about the region's terroir.

Bonnieux

Back at the property, enjoy some time to relax at your leisure. Later this afternoon we’ll take part in a hands-on cooking class followed by a dinner of our own creation paired with French wine.

Day 3

Ile de la Barthelasse

Arrive in the ancient city of Avignon, filled with magnificent art and architecture. Tour a famed distillery, taste their award-winning popular brandies and liqueurs, and learn how they grow “imprisoned pears” inside bottles. Relax during a lunch inside the distillery.

Avignon

Arrive in Avignon, a city of winding streets lined with boutiques, artisan stores, and cafés. Explore the Palais de Papes, the world’s largest Gothic palace during a privately guided tour. Savor dinner at a restaurant in Bonnieux with exceptional views.

Day 4

Cadenet

Head to an organic farm for a day of truffle hunting in the woods with an expert hunter and his dog. After, sample fresh truffles paired with Champagne – an indulgent treat! Tour the property and learn how grapes are cultivated and grown at the farm. Enjoy a buffet lunch spread paired with estate wines.

Lourmarin

Unwind in Lourmarin, one of France’s most beautiful villages. Wander down cobbled streets and take in views of the beautiful Renaissance castle and the surrounding countryside. Take a break at one of the cafes or restaurants that spill onto the streets. Enjoy dinner at the hotel this evening.

Day 5

Saint-Joseph

En route to Lyon, stop in largest region of the Northern Rhone Valley for a private estate tour and wine tasting. Learn how the vineyards have been planted on steep terraced hillsides since ancient times. The appellation is known for its red wines made from the Syrah grape. At our winery stop, we’ll enjoy lunch and a tasting of wines from the Cote Rotie and Condrieu appellation. Before continuing to Lyon, we’ll stop at an old barrel aging cellar dating from the 18thh century.

Lyon

This afternoon, settle into a grand residence in the heart of Lyon. Explore the medieval and Renaissance architecture of the city center during a guided walk. Enjoy a fine French dinner on your own in Lyon.

Day 6

Golden Stones Country

Explore the somewhat secret area known as the Golden Stones Country (pierre dorées) in Southern Beaujolais. Forty parishes of ochre-colored stones and majestic castles make up this stunning region. Visit Oingt, a 12th-century village considered one of the most beautiful villages of France. Next, we’ll stop at a family winery for a private vineyard tour and lunch featuring traditional Lyonnaise cuisine.

Pérouges

This afternoon, travel to the medieval village of Pérouges. Stroll along cobblestone streets and marvel at the French architecture of this popular destination used as a backdrop for several period films. Take time at your leisure to shop or taste local specialities like galette. This evening, discover the high-quality gastronomy of Lyon during dinner on your own.

Day 7

Beaujolais

Travel through picturesque villages and learn about the terroir and wine appellations of Beaujolais. The wine produced here takes its name from the historical Province of Beaujolais. The Gamay Noir grape is the primary grape planted in this region that sits along the Saône River. Visit a chateau winery and discover the secrets of grape growing and winemaking unique to the region. In Fleurie, one of the best-known of the ten Beaujolais crus, we’ll enjoy lunch at a winery Auberge. After, tour the small winery and finish with a tasting with the winemaker. Before leaving for Lyon, we’ll walk to the Fleurie Chapel and enjoy breathtaking views of the Saône Valley.

Lyon

Back in Lyon, enjoy some time to relax at the property or explore Lyon at your leisure. You’ll want to prepare yourself for an early check-out the following morning. This evening savor a memorable farewell dinner at the esteemed Paul Bocuse Institute situated in the hotel.

Lyon

Savor your last French breakfast, then take a private transfer from your hotel to the Lyon–Saint-Exupéry Airport for flights home. Not ready to leave? Continue your travels to Paris, the City of Love, for an optional four-day extension. Bon Voyage!

Activity Level

This trip has been designed to include daily exploratory walks that range from one to three hours. Guests should feel comfortable meandering along cobbled surfaces, walking up and down stairs, and sauntering down uneven nature paths. A $1,000 deposit per person reserves your space for this program. Final payments are due no later than 90 days prior to departure. An additional $500 deposit is required for extension reservations.
