Day 1
ARRIVAL
Arrive at Ezeiza International Airport, where an Experi representative will greet you and transport you to our hotel in the heart of the fashionable Palermo neighborhood. Check in and take time to relax and settle in. We'll gather this evening for introductions and a welcome toast before heading to a nearby private rooftop venue in Palermo, where we'll learn to make empanadas, watch a traditional asado demonstration, and enjoy grilled meats paired with regional wines as we kick off our Argentine wine adventure.
Day 2
Buenos Aires
Start the day with a guided city tour covering Buenos Aires' most iconic neighborhoods and landmarks. Explore Plaza de Mayo, the political heart of Argentina; Recoleta Cemetery, where elaborate mausoleums hold the remains of the nation's elite; Puerto Madero's revitalized waterfront; and La Boca, the colorful working-class neighborhood where tango was born. Our tour wraps up with lunch at Palacio Paz, an early 20th-century Beaux-Arts palace built for newspaper magnate José C. Paz that stands as one of the city's most significant architectural landmarks.
Return to Palermo with the afternoon and evening free. Our Travel Director will have plenty of suggestions for where to dine or what else to see in the city.
Day 3
Salta
We'll have an early start this morning as we head to the airport for our flight to Salta. Known for its diverse topography and spectacular scenery, as well as its Andean heritage, Incan influence, and Spanish colonial traditions, Salta is a world away from the cosmopolitan city of Buenos Aires.
After landing, we'll head to brunch before settling into 4x4 vehicles for our climb into the high desert terrain of the Calachaquí Valley. While the road is narrow and rough in parts, covering dry riverbeds and crossing streams, the incredible landscape will make it an adventure to remember. Arriving at our traditional hacienda accommodations in the late afternoon, we'll have time to enjoy the peaceful setting before gathering for dinner.
(Please note that the day's timing may be adjusted based on flight schedules.)
Day 4
MOLINOS
Today, we head to the high-altitude vineyards of Salta province, traveling in our 4x4 vehicles over twisting gravel roads. Our first stop will be Bodega Colomé, the oldest winery in Argentina, established in 1831. The winery changed owners many times over the years, finally landing in the hands of international winemaker Donald Hess, who has pursued a dream of making premium wines from some of the highest-altitude vineyards in the world. Here we will enjoy a wine tasting as well as a leisurely lunch. Our next stop is Bodega Tacuil, operated by the Dávalos family, where we will learn about the unique characteristics of the soil, climate, mountainside vineyard locations, and altitude that produce grapes with greater concentrations of tannins. After our tour and tasting, we’ll return to Molinos with time to relax before gathering for dinner at the hotel.
Day 5
MENDOZA
After breakfast, we'll check out and visit a family-run boutique winery near Cachi's main square for a tasting and light lunch. At 2,500 meters above sea level, the winery produces small-batch, high-altitude wines using sustainable practices and snowmelt water.
From here, we'll make our way back to Salta for our flight south to Mendoza. Upon arrival, we'll transfer to our hotel in the heart of downtown Mendoza, located within walking distance of the city's shops and restaurants. The evening is open to settle in and begin exploring. Our Travel Director will have plenty of recommendations for dinner and local spots.
(Please note that the day's timing may be adjusted based on flight schedules.)
Day 6
LUJÁN DE CUYO
Today we venture into Luján de Cuyo, the closest wine region to Mendoza city and one of its most historic. Known for ancient vineyards and high-altitude terrain, this area has earned international recognition for its Malbec, particularly the way different soils and elevations shape the wine's character.
We'll begin at a boutique winery where we'll explore Malbec from different terroirs and discuss the winemaker's approach to sustainable viticulture. After our tasting, we'll continue to a nearby estate for a farm-to-table lunch featuring seasonal ingredients from the property's organic garden, paired with wines from the surrounding vineyards. Return to Mendoza in the late afternoon, with the evening open to further explore the city.
Day 7
MAIPÚ OLIVE OIL
This morning, drive to Maipú, a district just east of Mendoza city known for its olive groves that date back to the late 1800s. The flat, irrigated landscape is lined with olive trees rather than vines, producing some of Argentina's most acclaimed extra virgin olive oils.
Visit Olivícola Laur, founded in 1889 by French immigrant Francisco Laur, who introduced olive cultivation to the region. The estate has remained in continuous production for over 130 years and was recognized by the EVOO World Ranking as the number one olive oil producer in the world in 2021. Tour the groves and modern production facility to learn how the estate's Arauco olives are harvested and pressed. Taste a selection of estate olive oils, then enjoy a three-course lunch at the property's restaurant. Return to Mendoza in the afternoon for an open evening.
Day 8
UCO VALLEY
Check out this morning and head south toward the Uco Valley. The landscape shifts as we drive toward the Andes, with vineyards climbing to elevations between 900 and 1,500 meters. The valley's rocky soils, dramatic temperature swings, and intense sunlight at altitude produce structured Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay with pronounced acidity and concentration.
Visit a family estate for a comprehensive tasting. Continue to one of the Uco Valley's highest sub-regions for lunch at a winery restaurant that draws on Argentine culinary traditions and local ingredients, paired with the estate's premium wines. Following lunch, we'll continue to our accommodations situated on 1,500 acres of private vineyards with views of the Andes. The evening is free to settle in and enjoy dinner on your own.
Day 9
UCO VALLEY
This morning, visit a bodega where deep soils and high elevation create conditions suited to Mediterranean grape varieties uncommon in Argentina. The estate focuses on Garnacha and Mourvèdre, blending them in the Rhône tradition. Tour the vineyards and winery to learn how minimal intervention techniques are used to express the site's character, then enjoy a tasting with a light lunch at the estate.
Return to the property afterward, with time to relax before dinner. This evening, gather for a festive Farewell Dinner at Siete Fuegos, chef Francis Mallmann's restaurant on the resort grounds. The menu centers on open-flame cooking using seven distinct fire techniques drawn from Argentine gaucho traditions.
Day 10
DEPARTURE
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before transferring to the Mendoza Airport for flights home. Not ready to say goodbye? Continue your journey south along the foothills of the Andes with a visit to the Andean lake district of Bariloche.
