Day 1
Arrival & Welcome Dinner
Land in the Lyon Airport where an Experi driver will be waiting in the Arrivals area to greet you and transport you north to our accommodations in the heart of Burgundy. Upon arrival in Dijon, take time to relax and unwind. We’ll kick things off this evening, gathering for an aperitif and introductions followed by a short walk to a nearby restaurant where we’ll sit down to a freshly prepared Welcome Dinner showcasing the flavors of the region.
Day 2
Dijon
After breakfast, join an expert local guide for a walking tour to discover the highlights of Dijon, capital city of the Burgundy region and home to powerful dukes during the 14th and 15th centuries. As one of the few French cities spared from major destruction during World War II, Dijon offers a well-preserved architectural heritage that reflects the town’s rich history. Following the tour, we’ll visit the Cave de la Cité for a tasting of local wines and light lunch. The afternoon and evening are open to continue getting acquainted with this lively pedestrian-friendly city. You might want to explore the newly opened Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie et du Vin de Dijon with its immersive exhibitions and shops dedicated to French gastronomy.
Day 3
Côte de Nuits - Vosne-Romanée
After breakfast, we’ll begin our exploration of the region, venturing south of Dijon into the Côte de Nuits countryside. We’ll visit 2 family-run wine estates, where we’ll learn about the terroir and the wine-making traditions passed down through generations and have the opportunity to taste the wines. In between visits, we’ll stop in the village of Vosne-Romanée for a gourmet lunch featuring the flavors of Burgundy. Return to the property in the late afternoon for an open evening. Our Travel Director is happy to provide recommendations.
Day 4
Côte de Nuits
Returning to the Côte de Nuits wine route, we’ll head to the village of Aloxe Corton, famous for its Grand Crus. We’ll visit another family-managed estate for a tour, tasting, and wine-paired lunch prepared in the Burgundian tradition. This afternoon, enjoy a special visit to the Château du Clos de Vougeot, where the monks from the nearby abbey of Cîteaux began cultivating the vineyards in the 12th century, establishing the foundation for the world-famous reputation of Burgundy wines. See the ancient cellar, winepresses, and monks’ dormitory dating back to the 15th century and learn about the development of winemaking in the region. Enjoy free time in Dijon this evening.
Day 5
Côte de Beaune
After breakfast, we’ll immerse ourselves in the Côte de Beaune wine-producing district of Burgundy, driving south to visit two prestigious estates for informative tours of their historic cellars and guided tastings of their acclaimed wines. Surrounded by vineyards, enjoy a wine-paired lunch of local flavors at the first château before continuing to another estate in a nearby village. Return to Dijon in the late afternoon for an open evening.
Day 6
Beaune
Today we venture through pastoral countryside to the charming walled town of Beaune— wine capital of Burgundy. Meet a knowledgeable local guide for a tour of this lively town, learn about its historic past, and see its striking architectural treasures including the medieval Hôtel Dieu des Hospices de Beaune. Enjoy lunch at a local bistro featuring seasonal dishes made from premium ingredients. This afternoon, visit the Cité des Climats de Bourgogne, a modern center that explores the cultural wealth and diversity of Burgundy wines. Returning to Dijon, we’ll gather again this evening for a traditional wine-paired dinner at a nearby local restaurant.
Day 7
Dijon & Beaune
On our last full day in Burgundy, we’ll have an open morning to do any last-minute shopping or sightseeing and enjoy Dijon at our own pace. In the early afternoon, we’ll return to Beaune for a final afternoon of wine tasting and historic cellar visits capping off our day with a festive farewell dinner in a mansion with cellars dating back to the 18th century.

Departure
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Lyon Airport. Still hungry for more adventure? Continue the journey with an optional four-day extension to the Northern Rhône. Bon Voyage!
Day 8
Lyon
After breakfast, we’ll continue our journey with a private transfer south through picturesque countryside to Lyon— France’s second-largest city and the country’s gastronomical capital. Upon arrival at our accommodations, the afternoon is free to find a spot for lunch and explore the city. Have time to relax and stroll through the cobblestone lanes and medieval passageways of the Vieux Lyon filled with classical architecture and colorful shops. This evening, venture out for dinner at a nearby local restaurant.
Day 9
Crus des Côtes du Rhône
Today, we’ll immerse ourselves in the northern route of the Crus des Côtes du Rhône. We’ll travel along the banks of the Rhône with a knowledgeable private guide, delving into the history and geology of the area and the art of winemaking. Along the way, visit two off-the-beaten-path wine estates each day and enjoy private tours of the vineyards and cellars, as well as guided tastings from a selection of prestigious Crus. In between visits, we’ll sit down to a wine-paired lunch featuring freshly prepared regional products before continuing on our way. Returning to the property in the late afternoon, our evening is open to enjoy the offerings of Lyon.
Day 10
Vieux Lyon
After breakfast, join an expert local guide for a walking tour to discover the highlights of the Vieux Lyon. The charming cobblestone street, small shops and eateries are well worth a visit. Here you will learn about Lyon’s famous secret passages called Traboules. The afternoon is open for exploring this UNESCO World Heritage city at your own pace, strolling through the cobblestone lanes and networks of medieval passageways, and taking in the classical architecture and colorful shops.
Day 11
Depart
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Lyon Airport for return flights home. Au revoir!

Conveniently located in the historic city center of Dijon, this property is walking distance from the shops, restaurants, and monuments of the city and offers an ideal base for exploring the winemaking heritage of the Burgundy region. This trip has been designed to include daily exploratory walks that range from one to three hours. Each day, whether touring a city or winery, guests should be prepared to be on their feet for multiple continuous hours. Guests should feel comfortable strolling along cobbled surfaces, walking up and down stairs, and sauntering down uneven nature paths. Europe tends to have Old World infrastructure (narrow cobblestone streets, lack of elevators, etc.), which can leave some areas inaccessible. Typically, our more invigorating walks are included as optional activities. If your mobility is limited in any way, or if you have questions, please contact our Guest Services team at guestservices@experi.com.
