Unwind at the property and discover your surroundings. Join together this evening for an aperitif and trip overview. Later, we’ll sit down for a warm welcome to Catalonia with a traditional dinner served with Priorat wines.
Day 2
Priorat & Tarragona
Spend the day discovering the wines of Priorat — home to the most renowned Catalan reds. We’ll first stop at a family-run winery and one of the pioneers of the Priorat winemaking renaissance. Taste outstanding wines with the enologist and owner while enjoying impressive views. Next, we’ll head to Celler el Lloar from Bodegas Torres. Here, we’ll see state-of-the-art winemaking at a stunning property that sits upon 26 hectares of terraced vineyards. Enjoy an exclusive wine tasting and picnic featuring local products.
Later in the day, we’ll travel to the seaside city of Tarragona. Take a guided walking tour with a local expert and learn about the city’s history, culture, and traditions. Tarragona is home to the second most important Roman site in Spain — a UNESCO World Heritage Site complex of Roman ruins and a colosseum. After, enjoy a refined dinner in Tarragona.
Day 3
Delta de l’Ebre
Today, head South to visit one of the most unexplored areas in Catalonia, the Delta de l’Ebre — an unspoiled territory of wetlands famous for its rice and shellfish. This off-the-beaten-path excursion begins with a visit to a mussel and oyster farm. We’ll go out on boats to taste the essence of the Mediterranean straight from the water. After, we’ll learn about the tradition of rice farming at a private cottage where we’ll enjoy an exclusive al fresco lunch paired with wines of a renowned producer from Terra Alta.
Back at the property in Priorat, the evening is at your leisure. Enjoy a stroll around the property or take advantage of the services offered at the hotel. Dinner is on your own tonight.
Day 4
Penedès & Barcelona
Rise early and depart for Barcelona. En route, we’ll stop in the Penedès wine appellation, known for its wide range of grape varietals and wine styles including sparkling Cava— a quiet contender to French Champagne. Visit a wine estate for a tour and tasting and learn about the long tradition of winemaking in the region dating back to the Romans.
Sit down for a wine-paired lunch before continuing on to Barcelona where we'll arrive late this afternoon and check into our hotel. Enjoy some downtime before a flavorful evening showcasing the exciting tastes indicative of Barcelona gastronomy. We’ll experience both modern and typical tapas dishes at a traditional bodega and modern gastrobar— it’s the perfect introduction to the capital of Catalonia!
Day 5
Barcelona
Join local experts for an introduction to Catalan cuisine through its markets. Take a stroll through one of Barcelona’s 39 markets and learn about the seasonal, local products on display. Our discovery of Catalan gastronomy concludes with a unique medieval lunch. We’ll meet a Slow Food chef who takes a personal approach to local recipes from medieval times to the present.
After, explore two masterpieces of Modern Art – the Hospital de Sant Pau and the Temple of the Sagrada Família. The walking tour is led by a local historian and Gaudí specialist. Admire magnificent creations and learn about Catalan Modernism and its most famous practitioner – Antoni Gaudí. Dinner is at your leisure in Barcelona this evening.
Day 6
Catalan Countryside
Journey through the Catalan countryside, stopping short of the Pyrenees region. We’ll spend time at a sustainable farm and meet a cheesemaker while enjoying bountiful tastes of local cheese, house-made sausages and charcuterie, olive oil, and wine. The day is made more special with lunch at a family-owned Michelin starred restaurant.
After a full day of traveling, we’re back in Barcelona to unwind for the rest of the evening. Join together for a cava tasting at La Vinoteca Torres before heading out for dinner on your own.
Day 7
Barcelona
Enjoy a leisurely morning exploring Barcelona. Take a stroll through the Gothic Quarter with your expert guide or wander on your own. Barcelona is a beautiful, energetic, and lively city that begs to be uncovered. Your travel director is available to recommend a number of activities to your liking. Mid-day we'll gather for a hands-on cooking class, preparing lunch with seasonal ingredients.
Tonight, come together for a festive farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

Activity Level
This trip has been designed to include daily exploratory walks that range from one to three hours. Each day, whether touring a city or winery, guests should be prepared to be on their feet for multiple continuous hours. Guests should feel comfortable strolling along cobbled surfaces, walking up and down stairs, and sauntering down uneven nature paths. Europe tends to have Old World infrastructure (narrow cobblestone streets, lack of elevators, etc.), which can leave some areas inaccessible. Typically, our more invigorating walks are included as optional activities. If your mobility is limited in any way, or if you have questions, please contact our Guest Services team at guestservices@experi.com.
