ARRIVE FLORENCE
Land in Florence Airport, where a driver will be waiting to greet you and transport you to our accommodations in the heart of Florence. Day 2
FLORENTINE ARTISANS
This morning takes us behind the scenes of Florence's living craft traditions. We'll visit working artisan studios where specialized techniques passed down through generations are still practiced daily. We'll continue to the Ferragamo Museum, housed in the Palazzo Spini Feroni where Salvatore Ferragamo, Hollywood's “shoemaker to the stars” in the 1920s, returned to Florence to build a company that combined traditional Italian leather craftsmanship with technical innovation.
Afterward, we’ll sit down to lunch at a local restaurant, with the remainder of the afternoon and evening free to explore Florence at your own pace. You may wish to stroll through the San Lorenzo Market, or visit the Duomo complex, Accademia (home to Michelangelo's David), or the Uffizi museum. Our Travel Director is available to help with suggestions for dinner.
Day 3
CHIANTI CLASSICO
We’ll venture out of Florence this morning and head south into the Chianti Classico hills, where vineyards and olive groves cover the rolling landscape. Our first stop is an olive estate for a tour of the property and its operations, including historic mill buildings and production areas. We’ll sample the estate's oils before enjoying a freshly prepared lunch featuring local ingredients.
Afterward, we'll continue to Antinori nel Chianti Classico, the striking hillside winery near Bargino. The Antinori family has been making wine in Tuscany for 26 generations, and this contemporary estate represents their commitment to both tradition and innovation. We'll tour the cellars and production facilities followed by a guided tasting of the estate's wines. We'll return to Florence in the late afternoon, with time to explore on your own or relax after a day in the countryside.
Day 4
TUSCAN TRADITIONS
After breakfast, we'll check out and head south through the Chianti countryside. We’ll head to a thousand-year-old Benedictine abbey turned wine estate for a tour and cooking class where a chef will guide us step-by-step in preparing traditional Tuscan dishes, before gathering at the table to enjoy our creations for lunch alongside a wine pairing from the estate. The property has been producing wine and olive oil since the abbey's monastic days, and the cellars occupy the original medieval structures. From here, we’ll continue to Castel Monastero, our historic hotel, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. We'll have time to settle in and relax before dinner at the hotel's Michelin-starred restaurant.
Day 5
SIENA
After a relaxing breakfast, we'll head to the medieval city of Siena, where we’ll start with an introduction to the historic center of the city and the Contrada system— the seventeen neighborhood districts whose centuries-old rivalries still shape Sienese identity and fuel the famous Palio horse race. Following this overview, we’ll have free time to find a spot for lunch and explore independently. You might visit the cathedral with its striped marble facade and inlaid marble floors, climb the Torre del Mangia for views over the Piazza del Campo, or wander the narrow streets to discover local shops. We'll return to Castel Monastero, stopping on our way for dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 6
MONTALCINO
This morning we'll head south to the Montalcino wine region, home to Brunello di Montalcino, one of Italy's most celebrated wines. We'll visit two local wineries for cellar tours and guided tastings, learning about the Sangiovese Grosso grape and the aging requirements that distinguish Brunello from other Tuscan wines. We’ll enjoy lunch at one of the estates, where we'll pair the wines with traditional dishes prepared from local, seasonal ingredients.
In the late afternoon, we’ll return to Castel Monastero, with the evening free to relax at the hotel and have dinner on your own.
Day 7

Activity Level
This trip has been designed to include daily exploratory walks that range from one to three hours. Each day, whether touring a city or winery, guests should be prepared to be on their feet for multiple continuous hours. Guests should feel comfortable strolling along cobbled surfaces, walking up and down stairs, and sauntering down uneven nature paths. Europe tends to have Old World infrastructure (narrow cobblestone streets, lack of elevators, etc.), which can leave some areas inaccessible. Typically, our more invigorating walks are included as optional activities. If your mobility is limited in any way, or if you have questions, please contact our Guest Services team at guestservices@experi.com.
