Day 1


Land at the Verona Villafranca Airport, and meet your Travel Director. Take a private transfer to the hotel, which is also a wine estate and farm.

Lake Garda

Tour the lush property. Come together to enjoy dinner with wine, featuring specialities from the surrounding three regions of Veneto, Lombardia, and Emilia Romagna.

Day 2

Desenzano del Garda

Join Marina at Podere Selva Capuzza for a hands-on pasta workshop. After, enjoy a lovely lunch of our own creation.

San Martino Tower

Enjoy a walk in the country to San Martino Tower. Climb the tower and learn about the part it played in Italy’s fight for independence between 1848–1870. The property’s winemaker, Luca, will join us for dinner and discuss the region’s wine. After, a storyteller brings to life the battle of Solferino with an engaging performance.

Day 3


Tour a family-run cheesemaking facility that dates back to the 1920s. The family produces artisan cheeses using sheep, cow, and goat milk. Savor a charcuterie tasting and lunch following the private tour.


Continue to Verona for an expertly guided walking tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site made famous by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. See the Piazza delle Erbe, the Verona Arena, Ponte Pietra, Juliet’s balcony, and more fine examples of Roman and Gothic architecture. Enjoy dinner at your leisure this evening in Verona.

Day 4


Depart early this morning for the province of Trentino — a breathtaking territory with mountains and valleys. Head to Vallagarina Valley where we’ll visit de TARCZAL, a well-established wine estate with a royal history. Devour a lunch of regional dishes at their quaint ristorante.


Unwind in Malcesine — a beautiful town on the eastern shore of Lake Garda. Enjoy time to stroll along the lake path or shop downtown. Savor a dinner of regional specialties at the hotel.

Day 5


Rise early and travel to Brescia, the second largest city in Northern Italy. A walking tour with a local guide uncovers some of the best-preserved examples of Roman architecture in the area. Visit Piazza del Foro and see the Capitoline Temple and remains of the Theatre, Forum, and Basilica. After, tour a family-operated wine estate that produces Franciacorta, a sparkling white wine. Visit the cellar and gardens, finishing with lunch on the terrace overlooking the vineyards.

Lake Iseo

Head to Lake Iseo for a boat tour of Monte Isola, and the smaller islands of Loreto and San Paolo. Monte Isola is an absolute gem. Learn about its fishing traditions – producing fishing nets, boat making, and fish conservation. Indulge in a lake-to-plate dinner of fish from nearby Lake Garda paired with wine at our hotel.

Day 6


Start the day in Sirmione, a picturesque peninsula on Lake Garda. Spend the evening amid grottos, castles, Roman ruins, and thermal baths. Take part in one of the optional excursions, such as a boat ride around the lake or a tour of the Grottoes of Catullus. Lunch is at your leisure in Sirmione.


Head to Valpolicella, the famed winemaking commune. Stop at Corte Lonardi to meet winemaker Giuseppe Lonardi. After a tour of the vineyard and estate, enjoy a tasting of select wines. A rustic dinner at Giuseppe’s family trattoria is to follow.

Day 7


Greet the charming village of Borghetto. Enjoy a pasta-making demonstration and a delicious lunch. Learn tortellini’s other name, “Nodo d’Amore,” meaning love knot.

Desenzano del Garda

Spend the afternoon back at our hotel and wine estate. Join together for a memorable farewell dinner this evening with newfound friends.

Day 8


Indulge in a delicious final breakfast, and check out of the hotel. Take a private transfer to the Verona Villafranca Airport for departures home. Arrivederci!

Day 8

Travel to Venice by train with your travel director. Check into your hotel and have lunch on your own before meeting your local guide for an afternoon walking tour of Doge’s Palace and St. Mark’s Basilica. See magnificent canals, narrow streets, and beautiful marble buildings. Enjoy dinner at your leisure this evening.

Day 9

Today, enjoy a full-day guided exploration of Venice with your local guide. Take a walking tour of the unseen side of Venice and explore the Jewish Ghetto and other delights with your local guide. Cruise along the Grand Canal in true Venetian form. Lunch and dinner are on your own with recommendations from your guide.

Day 10

Enjoy the city of Venice at your own pace today. The city is best seen by getting lost in the maze of narrow streets and canals. Lunch and dinner are on your own with recommendations from your guide.

Savor your last breakfast in Italy, then take a private transfer to the Venice Marco Polo Airport for flights home.

Activity Level

This trip has been designed to include daily exploratory walks that range from one to three hours. Guests should feel comfortable meandering along cobbled surfaces, walking up and down stairs, and sauntering down uneven nature paths. Typically, our more invigorating walks are included as optional activities. Please contact us at if you have questions.
