Day 2
Buenos Aires
Today we’ll set out on a guided tour to discover the landmarks and neighborhoods of Buenos Aires. We’ll visit the iconic Recoleta Cemetery, resting place of many of Argentina’s notable figures, and stroll through the colorful Caminito district in La Boca, known for its bold street art and tango roots and the Plaza de Mayo, the city’s main square. For lunch, enjoy a hands-on culinary experience that celebrates the heart of Argentine food culture. During the meal, we’ll sample distinctive regional wines and share in the convivial spirit of gathering around a family table—an essential part of the Argentine way of life. The remainder of the day is free.
Day 3
Salta
We'll have a very early start this morning as we head to the airport for our just over two-hour flight to Salta. Known for its diverse topography and spectacular scenery, as well as its centuries-old Andean heritage, Incan influence, and Spanish colonial traditions, Salta is a world away from the cosmopolitan city of Buenos Aires.
Upon arrival, we'll settle into 4x4 vehicles and start our climb into the high desert terrain of the Calachaquí Valley. We’ll make our way to a family-run winery in Cachi for lunch and wine tasting before continuing our journey. While the road is narrow and rough in parts, covering dry riverbeds and crossing streams, the incredible landscape surrounding us will make it an adventure to remember! Arriving at our traditional hacienda accommodations in Molinos, we'll have time to enjoy the peaceful setting and share a meal.
Day 4
Colomé
Today, we head to the high-altitude vineyards of Salta province, traveling in our 4x4 vehicles over twisting gravel roads. Our first stop will be Bodega Colomé, the oldest winery in Argentina, established in 1831. The winery changed owners many times over the years, finally landing in the hands of international winemaker Donald Hess, who has pursued a dream of making premium wines from some of the highest-altitude vineyards in the world. Here we will enjoy a wine tasting as well as a leisurely lunch. Our next stop is Bodega Tacuil, operated by the Dávalos family, where we will learn about the unique characteristics of the soil, climate, mountainside vineyard locations, and altitude that produce grapes with greater concentrations of tannins. After our tour and tasting, we’ll return to Molinos, where we’ll have time to relax before gathering for dinner at the property.
Day 5
Ruta 40 | Cafayate
After breakfast, we set out for a day of exploration in the Calchaquí Valley, where dramatic mountain landscapes meet high-altitude vineyards. Our route winds through rugged terrain to a renowned family-run winery located more than 2,000 meters above sea level—an estate known for producing bold, expressive reds that reflect the purity of this extreme terroir. Here, we’ll enjoy a relaxed, wine-paired lunch while taking in panoramic views of the surrounding valley. In the afternoon, we have a short drive to our next hotel, nestled among vineyards and framed by the Sierra de Quilmes. This evening, we’ll gather for dinner at a spot that pairs small plates with an excellent selection of regional wines, offering a flavorful introduction to Cafayate’s culinary scene.
Day 6
Cafayate
Today, we further immerse ourselves in this region famous for its distinctive Torrontés wines, visiting two of Cafayate’s most exclusive and acclaimed bodegas. These celebrated wineries showcase the depth, complexity, and elegance that define high-altitude winemaking in Salta. Lunch will be at the second estate, where we’ll deepen our understanding of the unique microclimate and its influence on the wines’ character. This afternoon, we return to the property for time to relax before gathering for a wine-paired dinner on our final evening in Salta province.
Day 7
Mendoza
Check out early this morning and begin the final leg of our Salta loop, heading north toward the airport. Our route traces the scenic Quebrada de las Conchas—a canyon known for its striking red rock formations shaped over millennia—though much of the journey will unfold before daybreak. After a drive of approximately 3.5 hours, we’ll arrive at the Salta Airport for our flight to Mendoza, Argentina’s celebrated wine capital. Upon arrival, we’ll transfer to our hotel, located in the heart of the city.
The afternoon and evening are open to relax, get settled, and begin exploring Mendoza at your own pace. Your Travel Director is happy to provide recommendations for activities and dining.
Day 8
Luján de Cuyo
Today, we venture into Mendoza’s Luján de Cuyo, a region renowned for its high-altitude vineyards and expressive red varietals, most notably Malbec. We’ll begin with a visit to a boutique winery that embraces biodynamic principles, offering a thoughtful perspective on the relationship between natural rhythms and winemaking. As fellow enthusiasts of biodynamic viticulture, we’ll have the opportunity to explore how altitude, soil composition, and vineyard age shape the character of these wines, while also discussing the winery’s holistic approach to farming and sustainability. After a guided tasting, we’ll continue to a nearby estate for a relaxed, wine-paired lunch surrounded by the region’s vine-covered landscapes. In the late afternoon, return to Mendoza, with the evening open to further explore the city.
Day 9
Uco Valley
On our final day in Mendoza, we’ll head to the heart of the Uco Valley for one last taste of this extraordinary wine region. Next, we’ll continue to one of the region’s most iconic dining destinations for a festive Farewell Lunch, overlooking vineyards and the distant Andes.
After a memorable meal, return to the hotel with time to unwind before gathering once more for a cocktail on the terrace— toasting our journey through the flavors, landscapes, and culture of Argentina.

Day 11
Bariloche
This morning, we'll experience the stunning landscapes surrounding Nahuel Huapi Lake and visit the town of Bariloche where we'll have free time to explore at our own pace. While native tribes have a long history in the area, the modern history of Bariloche dates back to the early 20th century, when German settlers established the town and were followed by waves of German-speaking immigrants. Their influence is found in the Swiss-style log and stone buildings, craft breweries, and chocolate shops of the Centro Cívico (or city center). This evening we invite you to join a family in cooking and sharing a traditional dinner in the family's home.
Day 12
Nahuel Huapi
Today we board a private boat to sail Lake Nahuel Huapi’s crystal clear waters. Our destination will be Isla Victoria where we'll have the opportunity to join a local guide for a walk on the wooded trails of the central part of the island.
