Positioned on the border of France and Germany in a valley shaped by the Rhine River, Alsace is steeped in a rich history of cultural fusion, reflected in its half-timbered houses, hearty cuisine, and distinctive local dialect. Known for its world-class white wines, including Riesling and Pinot Gris, the region’s unique terroir mirrors the biodynamic principles shared by both Domaine Zind-Humbrecht and Phantom Creek Estates.
On this journey, you’ll experience the deep connection between these two winemaking regions. Olivier Humbrecht, who not only leads Domaine Zind-Humbrecht but also serves as Phantom Creek's white wine consultant, will personally guide you through Alsace's renowned vineyards, sharing insights on biodynamic farming and the traditions that influence both Alsace and Phantom Creek's wines. This exclusive adventure blends Alsace’s remarkable wine, gastronomy, and history for a one-of-a-kind sensory experience in this picturesque and storied corner of France.

Day 1
Arrive Frankfurt
Welcome! A private driver will greet you at the Frankfurt Airport and transport you across the border to our accommodations in the Alsace capital of Strasbourg. Check in and have some time to relax and get settled. This evening, we’ll kick things off with introductions and an apéritif followed by a wine-paired Welcome Dinner at a nearby restaurant.
Day 2
STRASBOURG
After a relaxing morning, meet a local guide for a gourmet food tour of the city’s historic center that includes the Strasbourg Cathedral and the picturesque La Petite France, a charming neighborhood of half-timbered houses and canals. Taste some of the most iconic dishes of Alsatian cuisine such as tarte flambée, kougelhopf, and the native munster cheese. After the tour, we’ll embark on a boat cruise on the Ill River, showcasing Strasbourg’s varied architecture from a different vantage point. The remainder of the afternoon and evening are open to relax and enjoy as you wish. Our Travel Director is happy to provide recommendations for dinner.
Day 3
OBERNAI
This morning, we’ll head southwest to the picturesque town of Obernai. A local guide will share stories about the town’s rich history during a walking tour through rows of medieval houses, charming plazas, and monuments tucked within the town’s fortifications. Afterward, we’ll follow the Alsace Wine Route to a family-run winery for lunch, a cellar tour, and wine tasting. Our next stop is Mont Sainte-Odile, a peak in the Vosges Mountains that hosts a historic monastery, offering sweeping views of the Alsace plain below. After exploring this religious and cultural site, return to the property for a free evening.
Day 4
Colmar
After breakfast, we’ll travel south, stopping just outside Colmar at the family-owned Domaine Zind-Humbrecht, which has been producing wine in Alsace for generations. Enjoy a guided tour of the winery led by Olivier Humbrecht, where you'll learn about their unique terroir and biodynamic farming practices and taste the exceptional white wines, including Pinot Gris and Riesling, for which they are renowned. As Phantom Creek's white wine consultant and a leading expert in biodynamic farming, Olivier will share his expertise and insights into sustainable winemaking.
We’ll sit down to lunch before heading to the fairytale town of Colmar for a walking tour of this historic town that has passed back and forth between France and Germany through the centuries. After the tour, have some free time to explore before stopping at a restaurant for a dinner of local flavors.
Day 5
Culinary Workshop
Today we’ll delve into the food traditions of Alsace, rolling up our sleeves to participate in a hands-on cooking class using seasonal ingredients. Together with a local chef, we’ll prepare a four-course lunch before gathering around the table with a glass of wine to enjoy our meal. Return to the property afterward for time to relax and enjoy the lively local neighborhood.
Day 6
Haut-Koenigsbourg & Riquewihr
After breakfast, we’ll head southwest to Haut Koenigsbourg Castle, a medieval masterpiece built in the 12th century, perched high above the Alsace plain. With a local guide, explore its living quarters, drawbridges, and medieval weaponry, and enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. Next, visit the charming village of Riquewihr, nestled among vineyards, where we’ll savor a traditional lunch paired with Alsatian wines. In the afternoon, return to our accommodations and enjoy an open evening.
Day 7
Strasbourg
For our final full day in Alsace, we’ll have a leisurely morning with ample free time for any last-minute shopping, sightseeing, and packing. In the afternoon, we’ll have a private visit to the Historic Wine Cellar of the Strasbourg Hospices, a fascinating site dating back to the Middle Ages, where wine, grain, and other perishable goods were stored. Remarkably, the cellar still houses barrels of wine, including a vintage from 1472, believed to be one of the oldest white wines in a barrel, offering a unique glimpse into Alsace's rich winemaking tradition. Later, we’ll head out to a nearby local restaurant to toast our journey and enjoy a festive Farewell Dinner.
Day 8
Departure Frankfurt
After breakfast, take a private transfer back to the Frankfurt Airport for flights home. Not ready to say goodbye? Continue your journey with an optional four-day extension.
Day 8
Molsheim
After lunch, depart Strasbourg and head to the village of Molsheim, the birthplace of the legendary Bugatti brand, founded by Ettore Bugatti in 1909. Here, he crafted some of the most iconic luxury cars in automotive history, blending innovative engineering with artistic design. We’ll stroll through the village with a local guide and discover the key sites of the Bugatti car-making era. We’ll also visit the Bugatti Foundation, a small museum dedicated to the family before heading south to our accommodations in Rouffach, overlooking the foothills of the Vosges Mountains. Check-in and have time to relax and explore the surroundings before sitting down to a wine-paired dinner at the property.
Day 9
Automobile Museum
After breakfast, we’ll head south to Mulhouse to visit the Musée National de l'Automobile, home to one of the world’s most remarkable automobile collections. With over 450 prestigious cars, including rare Bugattis and other luxury models, it’s a must-see for both car and history enthusiasts. The museum offers exhibits covering the history of the automobile and interactive experiences such as driving simulators replicating race tracks and road conditions. Alternatively, spend time in exploring the local market, boutiques, and cafes in town. This afternoon, return to the hotel and enjoy an open evening.
Day 10
Eguisheim
Today we’ll make our way to the typical Alsatian village of Eguisheim, recognized as one the Most Beautiful Villages of France. The brightly colored historic houses, timber-framed façades, and medieval architecture create a charming atmosphere. We’ll visit a local wine estate before enjoying a light lunch in town. In the afternoon, return to the hotel to relax before gathering for a delicious wine-paired dinner in the evening.
Day 11
Departure Frankfurt
After breakfast, take a private transfer to Frankfurt Airport for your return flight home. Au revoir!

Hôtel Léonor
Conveniently located in the center of Strasbourg, the hotel occupies a restored 18th-century building with modern interiors, contemporary artwork, and large windows looking out onto the city. The hotel features a bar, snack bar, and courtyard terrace and provides an excellent base for exploring the town and surrounding area. Rooms offer air conditioning, complimentary Wifi, minibar, tea/coffee maker, refrigerator, toiletries, and hairdryer.
Château d’Isenbourg Extension
Built on 12th and 14th-century foundations, the Château is located in the heart of the Alsace wine region and offers panoramic views of the Vosges foothills and surrounding vineyards and towns. The property features 2 dining rooms, a garden and terrace, seasonal outdoor pool, and spa area with indoor pool and sauna. Rooms are equipped with complimentary Wifi, tea/coffee maker, minibar, toiletries, bathrobe, slippers, and hairdryer.

Activity Level
This trip has been designed to include daily exploratory walks that range from one to three hours. Each day, whether touring a city or winery, guests should be prepared to be on their feet for multiple continuous hours. Guests should feel comfortable strolling along cobbled surfaces, walking up and down stairs, and sauntering down uneven nature paths. Europe tends to have Old World infrastructure (narrow cobblestone streets, lack of elevators, etc.), which can leave some areas inaccessible. Typically, our more invigorating walks are included as optional activities. If your mobility is limited in any way, or if you have questions, please contact our Guest Services team at guestservices@experi.com.
