En route, we’ll visit the Valley of the Temples, an impressive archaeological site of Greek art and architecture created between 510 BC and 430 BC. Next, we’ll head to Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina. The fourth-century villa boasts a dazzling 3,500 square meters of Roman mosaics considered one of the finest collections of Roman tile work in the world. Its excellent state of preservation is attributed to a landslide that covered the villa until it was rediscovered and excavated by archaeologists some 700 years later.
