Day 2
AMSTERDAM
Today enjoy a glass-top canal boat tour through Amsterdam's elaborate UNESCO World Heritage-listed canal system. Glide through the city's medieval center and past quaint bridges and elegant 17th-century houses. Alternatively, embark on a guided bike tour to Waterland, passing charming villages, traditional windmills, and flower fields.
Enjoy sailing through the countryside and towards the Rhine River this afternoon, perhaps enjoying a drink on the Sun Deck and watching the passing scenery before joining your captain for a gala dinner.
Day 3
COLOGNE
Spanning the Rhine River, Cologne is one of the oldest cities in Germany, effortlessly steeped in history and tales of the past. Today’s activities include a guided city tour that takes you to the heart of its Old Town, dominated by the UNESCO-listed Cologne Cathedral. You’ll have the chance to delve deeper into the rich culture of Cologne, uncovering local delicacies and cultural gems as you stroll at your own pace along quaint historic streets.
Day 4
KOBLENZ
Immerse yourself in fairytale-like surroundings today as we cruise to Koblenz, a town set against a spectacular backdrop of vineyards and mountain ranges. Situated at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle Rivers, the historic city is known for its well-preserved architecture, including the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, which overlooks the rivers from a commanding hilltop.
Enjoy sailing through the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Rhine Gorge this afternoon where romantic castles are perched above tree-covered canyons and half-timbered medieval villages appear suspended in time.
Day 5
LUDWIGSHAFEN - HEIDELBURG
Arrive in Heidelberg this morning, famously known as the home to Germany’s oldest university. A guided tour of the town will unveil its baroque architecture and rich history, starting at the ruins of Heidelberg Castle, which offers stunning views of the Old Town. In addition to its other distinctions, Heidelberg was designated a UNESCO City of Literature in 2014, celebrating its deep literary traditions. This evening, enjoy a classical concert at the majestic Bruchsal Palace.
Day 6
KEHL - STRASBOURG
This morning, we'll dock in Kehl to be transferred by coach across the border to the picturesque town of Strasbourg, France where we’ll discover a medieval past among the cobbled squares and half-timbered houses. Join a guide for a walking tour of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town, which will touch on many of Strasbourg’s highlights. Hear about the fascinating history of this city that has gone back and forth between the French and Germans. This afternoon, enjoy free time to explore Strasbourg at your own pace.
Day 7
BREISACH - FREIBURG
Visit the city of Freiburg today, nestled at the edge of the Black Forest. Enjoy a walking tour filled with historic architecture and have the opportunity to sample authentic Black Forest regional specialties. If you're feeling energetic, embark on a guided bike tour of Breisach, situated on the Rhine and known for its impressive hilltop cathedral as well as its wine culture. Tonight we’ll toast our journey during a festive farewell dinner.
Day 8
ROUFFACH
After disembarkation, we’ll head northwest by private transfer, entering the picturesque Alsace region and stopping in the historical center of Mulhouse, France for a walking tour and free time for lunch. Continue a bit further north to our accommodations perched above the historic town of Rouffach. The surrounding vineyards are renowned for producing the Vorbourg Grand Cru, one of Alsace’s finest wines. Have time to relax and explore the surroundings before sitting down to a delicious wine-paired dinner in the Château’s restaurant.
Day 9
HAUT KOENIGSBOURG & RIQUEWIHR
This morning, we’ll venture north to Haut Koenigsbourg Castle, a medieval architectural gem built in the 12th century high above the Alsace plain. Explore the castle, taking in the living quarters, drawbridges, collection of medieval weapons, and expansive views over the surrounding area. Continue to the charming village of Riquewihr, surrounded by vineyards, where we’ll enjoy a traditional lunch and tasting of Alsatian wines. Return to our accommodations in the afternoon and enjoy an open evening.
Day 10
COLMAR
Today we’ll head just south of Colmar to a family-owned estate that has been producing wine in Alsace for generations. During a guided tour of the winery, learn about their unique terroir and sustainable farming practices, and taste the wines and Crémants d’Alsace for which they are known. Enjoy lunch at the winery before returning to the property for some time to relax. Later this afternoon, visit the fairytale town of Colmar, which has passed back and forth between France and Germany through the centuries. You’ll have free time to in town to explore, shop, and find a place for dinner.

The Emerald Star-Ship Dawn has a capacity of 180 guests with suites, staterooms, and public spaces spread across four decks.

Built on 12th and 14th century foundations, the Château is located in the heart of the Alsace wine region and offers panoramic views of the Vosges foothills and surrounding vineyards and towns. The property features 2 dining rooms, garden and terrace, seasonal outdoor pool, and spa area with indoor pool and sauna.
