Day 1


Welcome to Bordeaux, a city of wine, history and spectacular architecture. On arrival, we will meet you at the airport and transfer you to our luxurious river ship for your all-inclusive seven night cruise through the Bordeaux region.

Day 2


Enjoy a pleasant morning cruise on the Dordogne River to Libourne. While cruising, perhaps try your hand at a masterclass in French cuisine in our Culinaire cooking class.

Spend the afternoon in the nearby town of Saint-Émilion, an absolute visual feast and the jewel of this ancient wine growing region. You’ll also get to explore the underground catacombs of the Monolithic Church – a true highlight.

Day 3


Enjoy a guided tour of Libourne and view its quaint 16th-century townhouses and Gothic church. Alternatively, explore the estate of Château Siaurac in the prestigious Pomerol region for a wine tasting.

This afternoon, perhaps join our local culinary team for a cooking demonstration or choose to relax on board.

Day 4


Discover the remarkable Blaye region today. This morning, you have the option to stroll through the town on a guided tour and observe the impressively preserved center, or join a 30 kilometer roundtrip cycle along the Captain’s Road.

This afternoon relax as we cruise toward Fort Médoc or try your hand at the optional onboard culinary class. Later we enjoy the spectacular surroundings in the Médoc countryside at Château d’Agassac. Soak in the ambiance while live musicians perform classical masterpieces for your exclusive enjoyment.

Day 5


This morning, immerse yourself in the scenic Médoc wine region and discover why it is regarded as the world’s leading red wine producer, then sample the region’s finest at one of its spectacular estates. An alternative for those looking for more activity, cycle throughout this beautiful region stopping along the way for a wine tasting.

This afternoon, discover the Carriages Museum in the enchanting Bourg Castle, including a walk through the 16th century passageway to the guards rooms and see the immense WWII oil tanks. Alternatively, visit a local Château and learn its fascinating history while sampling some of the extraordinary wines produced on site.

Day 6


Sail along the Garonne River to the charming fortified city of Cadillac this morning. Venture into the Sauternes region for a delicious wine tasting at either Château de Rayne Vigneau or Château La Tour Blanche, or cycle through the rolling vineyards of Sauternes to taste the exquisite Grand Cru Classé wines of Château Mayne la Merci. Alternatively, take a walking tour of Cadillac including a visit to Château de Cadillac, a truly beautiful château that dates back to the 15th century.

Day 7


Discover the World Heritage-listed city of Bordeaux with its idyllic boulevards and architecture.

Today an option is to shop with a Chef at a local food market before cooking up a storm during your exclusive cooking lesson, or enjoy a guided walking tour of Bordeaux. Alternatively, for the more energetic, cycle the historic region of Bordeaux.

Back on board, enjoy a tasting of fresh oysters delivered straight from the waters of Arcachon Bay.

Depart Bordeaux

After a final delicious breakfast on-board, disembark and transfer to the Bordeaux airport with memories of a truly unforgettable journey.

Day 8


Depart Bordeaux after breakfast as we head east on a scenic drive toward the Dordogne region. We’ll make a stop along the way for lunch in a local bistro featuring regional specialties followed by a visit to a nearby winery in the Bergerac wine region for an informative tour and tasting. Afterward, we’ll continue on through rolling hills to our accommodations set within a private estate amid the natural beauty of the Dordogne Valley. Enjoy an open evening to relax and take in your new surroundings.

Day 9


After breakfast, get ready to explore the charming town of Sarlat, nestled in the heart of the Périgord Noir. A gourmet walking tour of the city will take us through the colorful markets, quaint streets, and vibrant squares of this medieval town. Taste local specialties, such as foie gras, truffles, and confit de canard, while learning about the history and culture of the region. After a delicious lunch in Sarlat, have some free time to explore the town before returning to our hotel in the afternoon with the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 10

Lascaux and The Dordogne Villages

After breakfast, we will depart for Lascaux IV— the International Center for Cave Art, which contains a replica of the Lascaux cave, one of the most important archaeological sites in the world, with more than 600 paintings and engravings dating back to prehistoric times. Enjoy free time for lunch in Lascaux before taking in the panoramic views as we travel to visit a quaint village of the Dordogne region. We'll return to our hotel in the late afternoon and our evening will include a wine-paired dinner in the hotel's gourmet restaurant. Activity Level

This trip has been designed to include daily exploratory walks that range from one to three hours. Each day, whether touring a city or winery, guests should be prepared to be on their feet for multiple continuous hours. Guests should feel comfortable strolling along cobbled surfaces, walking up and down stairs, and sauntering down uneven nature paths. Europe tends to have Old World infrastructure (narrow cobblestone streets, lack of elevators, etc.) which can leave some areas inaccessible. Typically, our more invigorating walks are included as optional activities.  If your mobility is limited in any way, or if you have questions, please contact our Guest Services team at
