Day 1
ARRIVE
Touch down in your chosen gateway city of Innsbruck (≈2 h) or Venice (≈2 h 30 min), where an Experi representative will greet you and transport you into the mountains. Check into your hotel located in the heart of the Dolomites and take some time to relax and get settled. Late this afternoon, we’ll gather for an aperitivo followed by a Welcome Dinner— our first introduction to the food and wine of the region.
Day 2
ALTA BADIA | VAL DI FODOM
After breakfast the cyclists set off with two professional guides on a half-day loop that climbs Passo Campolongo and skirts the dramatic Val di Fodom. Non-riders will join the Travel Director for a ridge-top hike through larch forests and wild-flower meadows. Mid-day both groups will pause at a rustic rifugio (mountain lodge) for a hearty lunch and spectacular views. The afternoon is free for the spa, a village stroll, or a spritz on the terrace before dinner is served back at the hotel.
Day 3
VAL BADIA | COL PRADAT
Today, you choose your challenge. Road cyclists roll through hidden hamlets of Val Badia, while mountain bikers climb to the Pralongià plateau for 360-degree panoramas and a single-track descent. Hikers head out on high-pasture paths nearby. After refueling with another rifugio lunch, return to the hotel to relax. This evening, we’ll take the Col Pradat gondola to a high-meadow terrace for dinner in the mountaintop lodge, followed by private transfers back down the mountain.
Day 4
VAL D’ISARCO AND ORTISEI
Leaving Alta Badia in the eastern Dolomites, we follow the Val Pusteria and Isarco valleys northwest to the 12th-century Abbazia di Novacella for a cellar tour and tasting of its mineral-driven whites. We continue to a second boutique estate for a casual lunch paired with alpine whites and reds, then drive to the town of Ortisei in Val Gardena. Enjoy free time to browse artisan wood-carving studios, ride the Seceda cable car, or linger in a café. An early dinner in town is optional before returning to the hotel.
Day 5
CICLOPISTA ALTA BADIA
Our final ride in the Dolomites follows the gentle Ciclopista Alta Badia, with parallel routes for road and mountain bikes; hikers explore a panoramic trail on the opposite slope. We rendezvous for a last rifugio lunch, then the afternoon is free to enjoy the offerings at the hotel or wander village lanes. This evening’s farewell-to-the-mountains dinner is at the hotel.
Day 6
BOLZANO
After checkout, we descend into the Adige valley and check in at Castel Hörtenberg, a former Renaissance-era residence. A one-hour walking orientation tour introduces Bolzano’s lively streets, charming arcades, and historic squares. Afterwards, enjoy lunch on your own at one of the many cafés, food stalls, or restaurants in the center of town. Mid-afternoon, we drive up to Arunda, Europe’s highest méthode traditionnelle cellar, for a tasting of mountain-fresh bubbles. From here, we continue to turreted Castel Flavon, a 13th-century hill-top fortress above Bolzano, for a sunset aperitivo and dinner overlooking the city lights.
Day 7
STRADA DEL VINO DELL’ALTO ADIGE
Today we travel south along the Südtiroler Weinstraße—South Tyrol’s 150-kilometer Wine Road—making our first stop at Alois Lageder for a biodynamic estate tour and farm-to-table lunch. A short drive brings us to Tramin, birthplace of Gewürztraminer, where you’ll have time to wander cobbled lanes or sample local gelato. We then continue to the historic Manincor estate for an afternoon tasting on its terraced vineyards above Lake Caldaro. Return to Bolzano for an open evening; your Travel Director can provide suggestions for dining with options ranging from cozy taverns to Michelin-starred restaurants.
Day 8
DEPARTURE
Private transfers transport you to Innsbruck (≈1 h 45 min) or Verona airports (≈1 h 30 min) for onward flights. Until next time—servus and auf wiedersehen from the Dolomites and South Tyrol!
